New York Murder
United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson
The killer of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson left messages on the bullet casings reading "deny," "delay," "defend" and "depose."
According to the Times, the words could be connected to a 2010 book titled "Delay, Deny, Defend" by Jay M. Feinman, a law professor at Rutgers. The book explores how health insurance companies shortchange policyholders by not honoring their policy terms.
The killer of Brian Thompson could be a little Narcissist who was looking for his fifteen minutes of fame by becoming an "avenging angel" for all the people who have been wronged by health care companies. This was a revenge style killing and the killer was going to be their hero, their "avenging angel."
This man was no professional hit man. He was too sloppy in his escape and left to much trace evidence behind. Also professional hit men are not interested in flirting with hostel workers where he stayed by taking off his face covering and could be identified.
This killing also reminds me of an episode of Chicago PD where a family comes to Chicago to kill a CEO of a company who was polluting a water supply in their town and their young child died. The family came to Chicago to get their revenge.
One must understand that a Narcissist will turn to antisocial personality behavior to get attention when all else fails. Bad attention is better than no attention at all for these personality types.
What I can tell you is the New York detectives are among the best of the best, I was trained by one in my early years. It won't be long before they find this killer and his motive behind this murder. Once they get passed the Victimology stage of their investigation.
