Bubba Wallace - NASCAR

When I read the story of Bubba Wallace finding a noose in his garage at NASCAR it was very troubling. The media jumped all over this story before checking it out. The media in this country needs to be held accountable for their nonstop everyone is a racists commentary. 

I read Bubba Wallace's tweet and statement. I found very little in his wording that flagged me. There were a few words that I found in his statement that were questionable but not enough to state he was lying.  His statement were truthful. I talked to my associates  on Monday giving them my thoughts both said the same thing back to me and they were right. His statement was truthful.  In Forensics we look at the facts and do not go into any analysis/investigation looking for deception. If deception is present within a statement our job is to detect that deception and ask additional questions.

I told my associates "I am not buying this" something is very wrong here. Many times over the years I have analyzed a statement for content and found no deception in the persons account of events, yet they were still lying.

Why was I not believing Bubba Wallace and the alleged noose he found hanging in his garage at NASCAR. It is not what Bubba Wallace said, it was what he did not say or do/act that troubled me.

My Reasoning:

First, his true lack of intense emotions on finding this noose. He said he was saddened at this act of racism. Then went on about how he feels about racism in this country, what needs to be done moving forward so on and so on. A noose has tremendous impact and meaning to African Americans in this country. This symbol of hatred triggers emotions very quickly. A rope and noose would get everyone's attention to your cause and belief about racism. First I would be angry as hell, I would want the people responsible found and prosecuted, my emotions would be extreme. His were not.  I found his lack of emotions very questionable.

Second, his lack of details on finding the noose, how he found it, where it was hanging, the color of the rope, the size of the rope,  who was with him when he found it. All of these details were missing from his statements I read.  

Third, his timing was off in one sense and spot on in another sense. I believe this was the day NASCAR was going to stop flying the Confederate flag. He is the only African American NASCAR driver and is very well liked. He has never stated he was subjected to racism before. Bubba seems to be a very nice man, people like him at NASCAR. Now with everything BLM and there are racists under every rock in the USA we have a noose hanging in Bubba Wallace's garage at NASCAR. Someone was looking for a little attention or wanted to bring attention to a cause he believes in.

Using a noose as a prop would do that. Everyone rallied around him, the news media was all over this story. It would appear the news media learned nothing from the Jussie Smollett alleged attack.

The FBI got involved very quickly and found that there was no act of racism here. The alleged rope and noose was the rope used to open and close the garage doors. All of the garage doors have a rope attached to them at NASCAR. There was a rope hanging in his garage, a true statement. When you open the garage door the rope hangs there. It was not put there by racists.

This is a prime example of what is called "weaving a lie within a truthful statement."
